Silent Light (2007)

The story takes place in a religious community in northern Mexico, where people are very devout believers, meticulously following the Lord's guidance and bearing in mind the teachings of their words and deeds. John (Cornelio Wall) and his wife Esther (Miriam Toews) are residents here. They have been married for many years. The family lives peacefully and happily in the scenic suburbs. However, a storm is surging under the appearance of calm, and it turns out that John falls in love with a woman named Marianne (Maria Pancraz Maria Pankratz), and the two often meet privately to enjoy the pleasure of the union of spirit and flesh. The relationship between the two is not limited to the flesh. John is deeply in love with Marianne, which means that whenever he is with Marianne, he violates not only the secular morality, but also the beliefs he has adhered to all his life.
