In the spring of 1871, the Japanese ambassador, under the protection of two samurai, crossed the continental United States by train to Washington, D.C., where he handed over a priceless saber given by the Japanese emperor to the president of the United States. The train was robbed by the fierce bandit Lin Ke and his deputy Gao Shi, and the saber was also robbed. In order to gobble up the treasure, Ghosh designed to kill Link. After the bandits left, the Japanese ambassador revived the seriously injured Linke and ordered the samurai Heidu Shihei and Linke to retrieve the saber within seven days.
