In February 1943, the brutal Battle of Stalingrad showed a stalemate. In Munich, members of the underground anti-war group White Rose are stepping up the printing of leaflets, in which Sophie (Julia Jentsch) and Hans, who plan to distribute leaflets to the university campus in response to the actions of female students not long ago, are arrested after taking great risks to enter the school. Gestapo Moore was in charge of interrogating Sophie. According to the agreed series of words, the sister and brother refused to admit that they were related to the anti-war leaflet and could almost be acquitted, but the Nazi search found new clues and the situation took a sharp turn for the worse. Sophie began to blame herself to cover her companions. After repeated exchanges, Moore began to have some understanding and sympathy for the determined young woman, but waited for Sophie. After all, it is a closed and unfair trial. This film is based on a true story and won many awards such as best director at the 2005 Berlin Film Festival.
