This film, the debut of Soviet film theorist and director Eisenstein, uses six chapters to show the beginning and end of a strike movement. In the busy factory, the workers buried themselves in their work. The Bolsheviks actively organized workers' strikes underground, but on the surface there was still calm. A handful of tools in the factory was stolen and the workers on duty were insulted by the factory owner's investigation. The angry workers returned to the workshop and hanged themselves. The workers clashed with the factory owner, the workers rushed out of the factory, overthrew the foreman, contacted the comrades of other factories, and a large-scale strike was launched. The negotiation between the factory owner and the workers fell into a stalemate, the workers who lost their livelihood were hungry, and the factory owner hired detectives to arrest the workers' leaders and sabotaged the workers' organizations with the help of hooliganism. Under the eviction of water hoses and mounted police, the workers fled everywhere and were eventually brutally slaughtered.
