The story takes place in Paris, France in June 1940, when Odil (Emmanuel Bea Emmanuelle B é art), a single mother with two children, Philippe (Gregory Le Plance-Lingay Grr é goire Leprince-Ringuet) and Casey (Cl é mence Meyer), is frightened by the flames of war. What should come will come, and when the sound of gunfire echoed in the streets, the strong mother joined the fleeing team without hesitation. For the children, the meaning of this long journey is unknown, and they do not fully understand their mother's decision to leave home. German planes brutally bombed the fleeing troops, and although Odil and the children escaped, all their belongings disappeared in the raging fire. Just when the helpless trio don't know what to do, a boy named Ivan (Gaspard Uriel Gaspard Ulliel) appears in front of them.
