Redhart is a humiliating former policeman and now a low-rent private investigator. His estranged wife, Anita, runs a sunset barbecue, which is now involved with Jeff used to deal with Ryder police detectives. When Anita was found to have been brutally murdered, Ryder and Jeff teamed up to find her killer. The case seems to involve immigrants who had a barbecue at sunset and an old friend named Guillermo Ryder. During their investigation, Ryder and Jeff met Harrison Shelgrove, a wealthy entrepreneur who owns a gun club. Roland, an employee of the club, seems to be interested in spending a lot of unusual Ryder. As Ryder approached the truth, he began to suspect that the crooked inertial navigation system agent, Stockton, might know something. What started as a search for his wife, the killer also introduced the Ryder Cup involving illegal immigrants in Los Angeles as a mystery.
