Suriyothai (2001)

The story takes place in Thailand in 1528. At the grand Elephant Festival, the second king Ashitaya and his son Prince of Heaven met a beautiful princess named Suliotai (M.L. Piyapas Bhirombhakdi), who fell in love at first sight. However, what Suliotai really admired was his cousin Piren Wang. After returning home, Ashitaya sent an envoy to Suri Otai's home to propose marriage. After weighing the pros and cons, Suli Otai finally decided to marry the Prince of Heaven. Fortunately, the Prince of Heaven treated Suri Otai very well, and their married life was full of happiness and happiness. In 1533, the Portuguese fleet brought the smallpox virus, a terrible epidemic that hit the country hard. It never rains but it pours. In the midst of internal and external troubles, the newly established regime is teetering, and coupled with the fact that the ambitious Queen Srisuda Chan has repeatedly played with power, Riotaizhao decided to recall Piren Wang stationed in the border areas and persuaded her evasive husband to regain power and stabilize the hearts and minds of the people.
