The film is adapted from a stage play created by female writer Margaret Duras in 1968, starring French national treasure actress Charlotte Gansbury and Niels Schneider, who was nominated for the new Caesar Award for Best Actor. It tells the story of the day of the rich wife Susanna and her lover at the seaside villa. Director Benoit Jacques has studied with Duras and is good at capturing subtle changes in women's psychology. with skillful stage scene scheduling and changes in seaside light and shadow, coupled with Gansbu's wonderful performance, he interprets a rich wife who is outwardly aloof but frightened and deceives herself in marriage and emotion.
