Swan Song (2023)

This film shows Karen Kane, artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada and dance artist, directing a new version of the ballet "Swan Lake", her last project before retirement. Karen devotes all her energy to combining unique choreography with new and sophisticated costumes and lighting designs to create a unique and elegant art space. She also advises dancers to imagine themselves as captive women rather than imitating or playing animals. The film interweaves the production process of the dance drama with the dancers 'personal lives. Several generations of dancers vividly present a story of love and betrayal on the stage, inviting the audience to witness the exciting premiere night.
