In 1985, German Gottlieb Braun-Elwert set an amazing skiing record: he skied from the center of the South Island to the west coast and crossed the main glacier in the South Alps, covering 40 kilometers and 4000 cubic meters in just 18 hours. Thirty years later, an expedition team was ready to re-slide his route, including his daughter Carla.
