During the Iran-Iraq war, a group of fleeing teachers walked on the wasteland with blackboards on their backs. Among them was a man named said (said Mohamudi Said Mohamadi) with a very lofty ambition, that is, to enable all the children in the village to read, change their destiny through knowledge, and get rid of the predicament. To this end, he gave up the opportunity to marry a rich girl and resolutely embarked on the road of teaching his children to read. He and his companions left the army in order to make a living. Said finally accepted a studious disciple. When adults were gambling, he taught his disciples to write down their names, love and other words. However, who thought that both master and apprentice had a sudden disaster. Saeed's companion met a group of lost Iraqi refugees who paid him as a guide, and the course of his life was changed. The ill-fated fate of these two teachers seems to be the lingering shadow of that era. This film won the jury award at the 56th Cannes International Film Festival.
