The Asphalt Jungle (1950)
John Heston directed a classic crime movie in which he used wise and insightful techniques to explore the tragic fate of a group of jewel thieves. Sam Jeff plays a released prisoner who brings together four partners to rob a jewelry store to sell stolen goods to a lawyer in exchange for millions of dollars. When they successfully robbed the jewellery and retreated, it was spoiled by a watchman, causing one of the gangsters to be injured when he escaped. On the other hand, the casino owner who funded the robbery was forced to confess by the corrupt police and revealed the names of the group members, who were doomed. The plot of the whole film is compact and neat, and each character has a distinct personality, thus condensing a strong dramatic tension. Marilyn. Monroe made her star journey by playing the role of a simple and sexy mistress on the screen for the first time.
