During the American Civil War, the Cameron family, the owner of the southern manor, originally lived a comfortable life. Cameron and the Stoneman children attend the same boarding school. In contact, young Benjamin Cameron (Henry B. Voso Henry B. Walthall) and Elsie Stoneman (Lillian Gish Lillian Gish) fall in love with each other. However, soon the Civil War broke out. Benjamin joined the southern army, went to the front, and the north's former good friend Stoneman (Ralph Reeves Ralph Lewis) became a rival. After the war, blacks burned and looted. Benjamin organized the Ku Klux Klan to retaliate against blacks and smashed the plot to establish the so-called "black kingdom". Benjamin and Elsie, a couple in need, finally came together. Their combination heralds the birth and unity of a new country. The three-hour masterpiece "the birth of a Nation", directed by American film guru DW Griffith, is not only the most important milestone in the world film history, but also a classic in the silent film era. This film is because of the promotion of white supremacy and the beautification of the Ku Klux Klan.
