A portrayal of the bloody age of a pope. Alexander VI was one of the most notorious, vicious and abusive popes in history. His son Caesar is an ambitious totalitarian, extremely cruel, unscrupulous, determined to rule Italy and even neighboring countries with violence. The behind-the-scenes story the Renaissance is an era in which everyone's desires are brilliant and everyone's will is placed on his own throne. Human beings become the legislators of the universe and begin to confuse the difference between greatness and evil. The glory of the city-state, the idols of the nation-state, and the physical monuments make the ancient imperial dream on the banks of the Tiber stand out from the fallen Roman church and bloom like the flower of evil. There are few biographies of the "incomparably bad" popes of the Renaissance. Only the 1965 Hollywood novel pain and ecstasy depicts Julius II, the pope of three illegitimate children, who invited Michelangelo to create the immortal dome paintings Genesis and the Last judgment. Rome before the Protestant Reform seems to have returned to the era of carnival of the gods two thousand years ago. There is desolation, depravity and endless conspiracies on the one hand, and flesh on the other.
