The play is inspired by the final unfinished work of the same name by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Edith Wharton and is dominated by an all-female creative team. British comedian Katherine Jakeways is the show's creator and lead screenwriter, Susanna White ("Ando", "bleak House" and "Jane Eyre (2006)") is the lead director, and both are executive producers along with Beth Willis ("Aid" and "Doctor who").
