The story takes place in the eighties of the last century. The famous botanist grows and studies plants on an island. He is strict and conservative in character and depends on his daughter Chen an (Li Xiaoran). On this day, mixed-race woman Li Ming (played by Milani James Myl è ne Jampano Yi) came to the island for an internship. Her parents both died in the Tangshan earthquake.
