The City of Violence (2006)
Jeong Tae-soo (Zheng Douhong), a criminal policeman of the serious Crime Unit of Seoul, received the news of the death of his good friend Wu Wangcai, so he rushed back to his hometown, which he had not been close to for ten years. At the funeral, Zheng Taixiu reunited with his former friends Zhang Bihu, Dong Huan and Shi Huan (Liu Huan). It turned out that the five of them were good friends when they were students, and Zhang Bihu, who was already a gang eldest brother, vowed to avenge Wang Cai. Zheng Taixiu also felt that Wang's death was not as simple as local ruffians and disturbances. Zheng Taixiu and Shi Huan, who separately investigated the cause of Wang Cai's death, were intercepted and killed by young gangs respectively. After some struggle, they were spared, but they also gradually touched the truth behind the scenes. It turned out that after Wu Wangcai handed over his gang to Zhang Bihu, the village and town where they lived was designated as a tourism development zone, and the profit-hungry Zhang Bihu colluded with Seoul forces in an attempt to seize the land of the villagers.
