The play, adapted from ABC News/ABC Radio's podcast of the same name, tells how Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos, rise and fall. Amanda Seyfried, who plays Elizabeth Holmes, was once described as "the next Jobs" because she proposed a new technology that could be tested immediately with only a small amount of blood, and received funding from a number of celebrities. But in fact, neither she nor the company had the hard power to achieve it, so Elizabeth began to fake it, launching a blood test that could not provide correct data at one point; after everything was finally exposed, Elizabeth is now facing criminal charges, and she could face up to 20 years in prison if she pleads not guilty. Naveen Andrews plays Sunny Balwani, a commercial partner and secret boyfriend of Elizabeth Holmes who has witnessed the rise and fall of Theranos. In Bad Blood, Balwani is accused of fostering a culture of fear in the company.
