In the quiet town of Sammerton, Arizona, Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger Arnold Schwarzenegger), who used to work for the Los Angeles Drug Enforcement Department, dutifully maintains local law and order. On this day, several uninvited guests visited the town, and a farmer was murdered. Meanwhile, on the other side of Las Vegas, FBI agent John Bannister (Forrest Whitaker Forest Whitaker) is transporting the notorious drug lord Gabriel Cortez (Educardo Noriega Eduardo Noriega). Who knew Cortez was rescued halfway, and he fled at full speed in a modified sports car after hijacking a female agent, heading towards Sammerton on the Mexican border at night. The quiet life of the town has been completely broken, and Sheriff Owens is about to experience a chaotic day full of gunfire and killing.
