Regardless of his upcoming wedding in real life, he responded to the love letter with ink and stamps from more than a hundred years ago, only to have an intergenerational relationship. The film won the best TV screenwriter award from the American Writers Association, and director Dan Curtis handled the romantic and blurred atmosphere very well.
