Prostitute Cabilla (Julietta Masina GiuliettaMasina) has always dreamed of living a sweet and secure life with her lover. However, the simple and kind-hearted she was cheated out of all her money by her boyfriend at the beginning, and was pushed into the river, almost killed. Once, she came across an actor who had just quarreled with his girlfriend in the street and was invited by him to go home for the night.
