In 1944, World War II was a tragic moment in full swing. In a Japanese field hospital in Nanyang, military doctor Keiji Fujizaki (Mifune Toshiro) and his colleagues work around the clock, tired and racing to save every wounded. However, misfortune suddenly came, Fujisaki's hand was inadvertently scratched, and it was infected by the dirty blood of syphilis carrier Takashi Nakata (Jiro Ishimura). After the war, Fujisaki returns to work in the hospital of his father Xiaozhisuke (Yoshimura). Although he already has a beautiful fiancee, Meisu (Miyuki), he does not want to involve his lover, so he keeps postponing the marriage date and decides to break up with Meisuxu. Keeping the secret of syphilis, he struggled silently with the disease and struggled along the path of the doctor. This film is based on the original work of Kazuo Kikuda.
