The Thick of It (2005 - 2012)
From the well-tuned "minister" and "prime minister" to the "behind-the-scenes crisis" with exports, from Thatcher's Conservative government to Blair's Labour government, Downing Street is the same Downing Street, BBC is the same BBC, (the ragged bear is the same shabby bear, of course), this time the unlucky guy has been replaced by the Ministry of Social Affairs. Minister Hugh Albert and his team have endless buttocks to wipe and endless scolds to suffer, spending every day in fear of flying dogs and upsetting black and white, and swearing from Queen Malcolm. The most outrageous thing is that all this is presented in a calm hand-held news photography style, full of sense of the scene, just to make you believe that the government is so crazy. The political comedy, filmed by BBC in 2005, won various comedy awards, including BAFTA, and is said to have been targeted for a remake in the United States.
