In the mid-16th century, the British ambassador to France was assassinated, and the deceased was the uncle of young King Henry VIII (Jonathan Les Meyers Jonathan Rhys Meyers). This made the king so angry that he immediately summoned his ministers and prepared to send troops to France. However, Cardinal Walkin (Sam Neil Sam Neill) weighs the interests of all parties and does not approve of the Anglo-French war. Therefore, he tried every means to let the King of England and the King of France resolve the matter through negotiation. As Queen Catherine gave birth to only one daughter for Henry VIII, she gradually fell out of favor. Henry VIII had always been bitter about this and had fun in the court. However, what really fascinated Henry VIII was a waitress named Ann Boleyn (Natalie Dormer Natalie Dormer), who was beautiful, plump and enchanting, making him almost crazy. In order to marry the matchmaker, Henry VIII conspired with Bishop Walkin to divorce the Queen, which immediately involved diplomatic, religious and other interests. During this period, the spread of febrile death caused panic across the country, and a court shock followed.
