Philip, a street tramp, decided to end his life of poverty by committing suicide. Philip fell in love with the casino singer Louise, and Louise, who owed a lot of debt, ostensibly conspired with lover Jack to cheat Philip out of his money, but secretly planned to run away with the money alone.
