This Sporting Life (1963)

Frank (Richard Harris Richard Harris) is a simple-minded miner with well-developed limbs and is deeply in love with a widow named Hammond (Rachel Roberts Rachel Roberts). Frank joined the rugby team for Mrs. Hammond and showed amazing talent on the pitch, and his boss was willing to pay him 1000 pounds to continue to play. With the money, Frank bought a car and took Mrs. Hammond and her family on an outing, which made Mrs. Hammond not only sad at the thought of her dead husband, but also disgusted with Frank and shunned him. Frank missed Mrs. Hammond so much that he decided to go to her house to find her, but when he arrived, he knew that Mrs. Hammond had died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
