Due to the murder of her father, 14-year-old Marty Ross (Haley Steinfeld Hailee Steinfeld) arrives at Fort Smith, where the crime took place, to deal with the afterlife as the eldest daughter represents the family. Tom Cheney, his father's killer, is gone, and in this boring and busy western town, no one cares when the fugitive who killed the stranger will be caught. Marty decides to hire a policeman to avenge her father. She chooses to work with drunken Sheriff Rooster Coburn (Jeff Bridges Jeff Bridges). Meanwhile, a Texas trooper, LaBeouf (Matt Damon Matt Damon), also wants to capture Tom Cheney and get a high reward in Texas. In order for Cheney to be brought to justice locally, Marty must catch his father's enemy before LaBeouf. Mature and strong Marty and Rooster stepped into the reservation, where there are many outlaws and enemies at large for the time being.
