Anne, a middle-aged woman in Estonia, left her hometown to work as a caregiver in Paris. Her job is to look after Frida, a tough old woman who emigrated to France from Estonia a long time ago. Frida doesn't want Annie to take care of her food, clothing, shelter and transportation, she just wants to return to the arms of her lover Stephen.
