White on White (2019)

At the beginning of the 20th century, wedding photographer Pedro came to the wild island of Tierra del Fuego to shoot weddings for the local authorities. But he was deeply infatuated with the young bride-to-be, betrayed the rules set by those in power, and was punished for it. Unable to escape Tierra del Fuego, Pedro was forced to become an accomplice in the Holocaust against aborigines. In his photos, the scene of the massacre is changed to a well-designed arrangement, and the truth is left out of the camera. The film is based on the actual aboriginal massacre in Tierra del Fuego, and the director shows this uncomfortable gray area in history through the perspective of the fictional protagonist Pedro. The film won the Best Director of Horizon Unit and the Phoebe Award at the Venice Film Festival.
