Adapted from Kalmai's novel, the German writer Karl Mai, a literary geek, was born in 1842 into a poor working family in Germany. He could not see anything at birth. His mother sought medical treatment in many ways and did not regain his sight until he was 6 years old. At the stage of blindness, he had to perceive the world around him by hearing and touch, and his imagination developed extraordinarily. After dropping out of school and losing his job in his youth, he began to write books, first of all humorous novels and country stories about his hometown. Later, he became famous for writing stories about exotic adventures. Amazingly, when writing these stories, he did not visit the countries mentioned in the book, and the natural scenery and life scenes he described made the reader feel that he knew these countries very well. The most wonderful stories of Karmai are the adventure stories of North America and the Middle East and the Balkans. The former shows the conflict between Indians and white immigrants, while the latter vividly depicts the struggle between good and evil. This is the card with repeated suspense, vivid plot, charming natural landscape and distant sense of history, as well as a unique combination of myths, adventures, travels and philosophical novels.
