On the eve of the 1992 civil war in Yugoslavia, Serbian engineer Luca (Slavko Stimac) takes his opera-obsessed wife Gadelanka (Vesna Trivalic) and son Milo (Vuk Kostic), who dreams of becoming a footballer, to the mountains of Bosnia to set up camp in order to build a tourist route. Luca ignored his wife's complaints and rumors of the war and devoted himself to the design of the line. Soon after, the war broke out, Milo was drafted into the army, and Gadelanka could not bear the country life to elope with his lover, and the frustrated Luca waited for his wife and children to return in the rumble of gunfire. By chance, Luca saves the Muslim woman Sabaha (Natasa Solak) from the soldiers. It was intended to be used as a weight in exchange for his captured son, but Luca gradually developed a relationship with Sabaha. This film won the French National Education system Film Award at the 2004 Cannes International Film Festival and the European Union Best Picture Award at the 2005 Caesar Film Festival.
