The film is adapted from a memoir written by the wife of Daniel Pearl, a war correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. Daniel (Dan Futterman Dan Futterman) goes to Pakistan to investigate and report a terrorist story, only to be kidnapped and killed shortly afterwards. Wife Marina (Angelina Jolie Angelina Jolie) has been praying for her husband to return safely, and the belief in finding her husband has been supporting the pregnant mother-to-be. She resolutely writes her memoirs, which is full of acquaintances with Daniel, which makes Daniel's journalistic ideal and courage to go to the truth stand out on the paper. She wants to let her children know that her father used to be a competent journalist. Marina was finally able to accept her husband's murder strongly and calmly. At the same time, she not only kept her children away from racial hatred and the dust of war, but also returned to France to continue her career and raise her children to grow up.
