Before the Rain (1994)

In Macedonia, in wartime Bosnia, a young Orthodox monk protects a young Albanian girl suspected of killing an Orthodox Christian in silence. But it was just a misunderstanding. The friar decided to elope with the girl with his own kindness. In London, a photojournalist (Catelyn Catridge Katrin Cartlidge) talks with her husband about the emotional meltdown in a restaurant. During a heated argument, a racist stormed into the restaurant and opened fire. Love suddenly becomes clear between life and death. A photojournalist who leaves his best friend (Rudd Bodezga Rade Serbedzija) sets off from London and returns to his hometown of Macedonia, where he hasn't been here for 16 years. There are his old friends, his Orthodox friends, and ethnic conflicts with Albanians. The photographer tried to resolve the dispute through reconciliation, but it was not as simple as he thought. "A circle is not a circle." Three intertwined stories and tragedies caused by misunderstandings of different cultures, religions and nationalities.
