The film, starring Aubrey Plaza of Ingrid heading West and Brian Terry Henry of Atlanta, began filming in Vancouver this week. In the new version, the mother played by Plaza gives her son a doll as a birthday present, but has no idea about the dangerous nature of the doll. The film is based on the original 1988 version, but the series' screenwriter Don Mancini and producer David Kirchner are not involved in the new version. In fact, the two are currently working on more original Ghost Baby movies and related potential plays. The new version of Ghost Baby released by MGM will obviously distinguish itself from the well-known original Chucky and compete with the latter.
