In 1805, Napoleon traveled across Europe, and only the British fleet could match it in naval warfare. Captain Jack (Russell Crowe) and his warship Marvel are ordered to intercept the French warship Hell into the South Pacific Ocean. The two ships meet for the first time on the north coast of Brazil. Hell defeats the Marvel by virtue of superior firepower and thick armor, and Jack can barely escape by relying on foggy weather. Although the first battle was not good, Jack, who had followed General Nelson, was confident in his warship, refused to return and began to study his opponent. Soon the two ships met again, Jack used bait tactics to reverse the situation, all the way to the stormy Cape Horn, Jack's persistence caused good friend ship doctor Stephen's opposition, but Jack has an elite team, in a variety of disadvantages, the crew will adhere to the targeted training. Stephen's accidental injury made Jack stop the chase and stay on the island for a rest. This trip unexpectedly provided Jack with the inspiration to fight. Soon the hellship reappeared, and the two ships finally ushered in a fateful showdown. This film won more than ten awards such as Best Photography Oscar and Sound effect Award in 2004.
