In 1967, in Africa's Zaire Motaba Valley, American mercenary barracks were ravaged by a sudden disease, and the death toll was rising. After the military doctor took infected blood samples and left, the entire barracks were destroyed by bombs, and the white-faced monkeys in the nearby woods screamed. It wasn't until the 1990s that a young American caught a little white-faced monkey in Zaire, Africa, and took it home for sale. A new disease spread in Cedar Creek in San Francisco after the young man released the monkey because it did not meet the requirements of the buyer. American Institute of Infectious Diseases Colonel military doctor Sam (Dustin Hoffman Dustin Hoffman) received the news, with his wife (Renee Russell Rene Russo) and colleagues immediately start research and treatment work. Because of the highly contagious disease, the government urgently dispatched troops to seal off the town and kill those who wanted to escape. At this time, a batch of secret infected serum was sent, but a group of people such as Sam found that the serum could cure the disease in 1967, but had no effect on today's mutated virus. Soon after, Sam's wife was unfortunately infected and when her life was in danger, the government made a decision to drop a bomb to destroy the whole.
