Redacted (2007)

This film tells the story of young American soldiers fighting in the Iraq conflict and focuses on the modern mode of war covered by multimedia. Because of the impulsive nature of young people and their own limitations, the excerpt revision shows us the consequences of placing a group of young American soldiers in a spiritually ambitious situation. Director de Palma has collected and sorted out a large number of experiences of American soldiers in the conflict between the United States and Iraq, and this time he is full of courage to focus on the remaining heat of the war in Iraq. The plot revolves around a unit of the United States Army. They took advantage of their strong position to persecute an innocent Iraqi girl and her family, culminating in a brutal rape and murder. The film is sharp, revealing the innocent deaths brought about by the war and the helplessness of Iraqis in the face of the war. The film makes the audience think and begin to question any information and events they get. Because the truth is often out of shape after being filtered by efficient filters such as media and politics, and has become a tool for a small number of people. Finally, the film leaves a question waiting for everyone to think about: once we know the truth, what is the meaning of war? To whom all tragedies will fall.
