Soldiers of Salamina (2003)

The Spanish Civil War is coming to an end and 50 Franco elements are about to be executed by the firing squad of the Republic, including Sanchez Mazas. When the execution began, Sanchez Mazas escaped into the forest. In the course of the search, a soldier found his hideout and looked at each other, but the soldier turned and left without saying a word. Sanchez Mazas miraculously saved his life, and his escape became a legend of Franco Spain. He was regarded as a hero and became a minister of Franco's first government, and the soldier disappeared into the depths of history. The author pursues this period of history in many ways, and in his eyes, the soldier who turns and leaves is the real hero in that bloody history. ©Instituto Cervantes
