After escaping from the planet in the first episode, Riddick (Vandissel Vin Diesel) swims from planet to planet to avoid being hunted by bounty hunters because of his identity as a fugitive murderer. And the whole universe is shrouded in darkness and terror at this time. A ruler named Lauder Marshall (Colm Feore Colm Feore) is invading the universe under the banner of religion.
