The Towering Inferno (1974)

Architect Doug (Paul Newman Paul Newman) hopes to put aside his work and begin a long-planned trip when his San Francisco skyscraper is completed, but at this time, an alarm signal comes from the main warehouse, and with the help of Harry, the building's command center, Doug finds out that the safety terminal cabinets are not insulated, and the circuits of the whole building are far from meeting their own design requirements. Building builder Duncan and son-in-law Roger lowered the building's fire protection specifications in order to save construction costs. Duncan and a group of celebrities gathered in the 135th floor ballroom to celebrate the completion of the building. Doug and fire chief Mike (Steve McQueen Steve McQueen) urged Duncan to evacuate. The fire in the poorly equipped skyscraper was soon difficult to control. Doug, Harry and Mike's firefighters each did their best to save the crowd, but the raging fire seemed to engulf everything.
