The United States of Leland (2003)

16-year-old Leland Fitzgerald (Ryan Gosling) is autistic and sensitive, and one afternoon, a peer falls at his feet. Lilan, who remained silent, was charged with murder and sent to the reformatory, and the two families were plunged into grief and pain. In the penitentiary, writer and teacher Pierre Madison (Don Cheadle) begins to consciously approach the silent boy in order to write a book. After a period of communication, Lilan slowly opens the locked heart door and shows his inner world to his trusted good friend.
