Ivan IV was the most endowed Russian archduke in the 16th century. The film begins with the grand scene of Ivan's coronation at the age of 17. Handsome and ambitious, he declared that he would bring a new order to Russia and oppose the aristocracy. When rumors spread on the banks of the Moscow river, he met with the public for the first time in the palace. On the one hand, he made the people believe in his wisdom and ability to govern the country, and on the other hand, he doubted his own situation. He even suspected that Duke Kulbsky had a bad plot. A serious illness made him recognize the troubled aristocracy. Soon after, his beloved wife died and many aristocrats rebelled. Ivan took decisive measures to smash the aristocratic rebellion led by the imperial aunt. Finally, he decided to give up Moscow and announced his abdication. He knelt before him with an iconic flag in his hand. From then on, the young czar can be called the real "Ray Emperor". The film, which is recognized as a classic, won a Soviet national prize in 1946. The film was soundtrack by the famous composer Prokofyev.
