In 1944, when the Germans put a lot of troops into guarding a bridge in Yugoslavia, Dr. Hoffman, the SS colonel, took pains to prevent attacks by Confederate guerrillas. At the same time, the guerrilla major Tiger (Velimir 'Bata' Zivojinovic) received orders from his superiors: in order to stop the German army from converging, they must find a bridge-building engineer to blow up the bridge within seven days. Tiger and his old comrade-in-arms, explosives expert Zawadoni (Boris Dvornik), together with his assistant Bambino, the reticent warrior Dishi, and the guerrilla Mana who helped build the bridge, formed an operation team. The tiger rescued the engineer from the Gestapo and fought a fierce battle with the German guards as they approached the bridge. Some guerrillas and liaison were killed, but new forces were added. After cracking the infiltration of German spies, the guerrillas finally blew up the bridge.
