In the early years of the Republic of China, the Chen family road at Xiguan in Guangzhou had fallen, leaving only Chen Xiuying (Tian Ni), her cumbersome husband Yang Zhenyu (Wang Rong) and the maid who served Xiuying. Xiuying is weak and sick. as soon as she moves around, she will cough. Zhenyu is a gambler and an alcoholic. Whenever something goes wrong outside, she will beat and kick Xiuying and the maid, and the maid can no longer stand it. Don't Xiuying go home.
